Ajijic - Debit Card Theft and Fraud

Amount Stolen:  2 debit cards taken: $500. u.s.d. spent for merchandise.
Description: Friend was in exercise class. class had been moved from ajijic plaza to 6 corners. she left her purse in view. & checked her wallet a few times. all her cash was there & credit card. no one was near the purse during the class except a little boy, & several other children near. there was a scuffle & the mother grabbed the child away. later that night she came home & noticed 2 debit cards were gone. cash & credit card were still in wallet. she called the US bank customer service #. apparently a the card was used between 7:30pm & 9pm, (class ended 7pm) purchases were made in several towns near guad. the bank shut down card as the spending pattern was unusual. the bank gave provisional credit ($500. usd) after thanksgiving weekend,

Comments: My friend had a large pocket in her jacket w/a velco closure. for the future she uses this pocket for her wallet & card. ladies, if you leave you bag on he floor, put the valuables in your pocket. & dont go out w/debit cards if you can help it.
