Chapala - Tires Slashed/Purse Stolen

After having my car washed and proceeding to the light in Chapala to drop off a friend . I was waiting for the light to change to make a left hand turn ---very quickly someone in the car to my right cut my car tires  with  a knife in three places ---we both heard the noise but in Mexico everything is noisy ---I still did not know what happened at this point and a few minutes later after dropping of my passenger the light came on (my new car) telling  me that the air pressure in my tire was low ---I have new tires and could not imagine why !!!  --a fellow near the market on foot indicated a tire problem---and from where he was standing there was no tire problem  leading me to believe  later he was part of the group watching which way I was going . 

I continued back to the car wash and drove inside --opened the door and looked ---no tire failure so I stepped to the other side where the owner was --in a split second a young fellow jumped from a car and grabbed my pocket book complete  with fracc and condo fees --credit cards etc. and took off running and jumped in the car at the next block . A couple of guys at the car wash ran after him but when he jumped in the car he made a fast getaway!!!  Very soon a cop truck arrived and also tried to catch the thief ---no luck !!!!  

This is just one incident this weekend when the traffic is unreal ---please be careful ---this was in the morning with cars all around ---There are so many incidents that we just don't hear and know about so I wanted to warn you of one first hand.  There was purse snatching at Sorriana's as well about the same time , probably the same group!! 
I also had all my keys in the purse so had to have all the locks changed because my address was on the DIF card!!!
