| Future Deterrents: | Talking to landlord about razor wire on roof perimeter, considering wireless alarm, talked to neighbors about increased watch, signals in case of trouble, keeping an eye out on each others property. |
| Description: | it appeared that two men got up on my roof. The iron bars are bent on the windows where the roof is lowest and easy to climb up to. The handyman checked and reported two sets of footprints on the roof near the edge as if looking for the lowest place to jump down. I heard someone on the roof. This was approx 2 AM. |
| Police: | The night of the footsteps on the roof the police drove by - I assume going to other problems in Rancho del Oro. I flagged one down and tried to show him where they may have climbed up and he was not at all interested. I also called just before the sirens and police cars were here and the operator did not seem to speak much english and did not understand my limited spanish. My bad for not learning faster :( |
| Comments: | Yesterday, Dec 3 someone urinated against my front door and covered entranceway overnight. It was pretty clearly human due to the height. I cleaned it with amonia to deter if it was a dog. This morning the same spot, right beside the house inside the archway to the front door had "!Hola! written in dark black pen or sharpie pen at eye level on the white pillar. Not sure if this was tagging or ? I was home all day and overnight, and none of my friends would do that. Very few people I know here know my address. There have been new workers around the area, and the urinating I put down to a drunk walking home after fiesta but the writing upset me a bit. I feel a bit foolish reporting this, it may be a teen prank but it did make me worry given what I believe was a break in attempt over the roof the same night as the invasion. I believe I thwarted them by turning on all the lights. I really do not know whether to worry about the tagging and urinating. It was written very small, maybe two inches tall and not a place you would see it unless you looked closely. I wish I had taken a picture of it but it freaked me out so I washed it off immediately and checked the rest of the house and up and down the block. Didn't see anything similar.So again I am not sure this is a valid report or concern but it did spook me after the recent events in RdO. |
