(East of Chapala - half way to Mezcala)

Update:

5/20/11 -

1 - the owner (victim) found and recovered his pickup truck a few days later; it had been abandoned in a field with the keys in it and was not damaged.
2 - the police stopped and arrested 4 men traveling on the carraterra north to Guad a day or two after that.    In their truck were the victim's suitcases and virtually all the stolen items.    After filing reports in Guadalajara, the property has been returned to the owners.

Climbed up to seoond level of house, then entered screen slider from this level's terrazza

Description:

2 persons entered as above, went to the bedroom, tied up the senior occupants (husband and wife).

One watched them while the other went thru the house, taking artwork, computer monitor and printer, liquor, cash from both wallets (not credit cards) and men's clothing (about 30 shirts, etc)

Primarily things that could be used or quickly / easily sold - they did not take the big screen TV that was mounted to a wall bracket, for example, or the actual desktop computer itself. they also took all their luggage (to haul everything away in)
They then took the keys to the Nissan pickup truck and left in that, along with the remote control to open the entry gate to the property.

One person is described as quite tall (6 feet 1 or 6 feet 2 inches), thin, short hair, "swarthy" (darker than normal) complexion. 

Armed: Yes - pistol was held on the occupants
Physical harm: no harm, other than being tied up, scared, and having the pistol visible
Police Called: Yes, they freed themselves right away after the thieves left and called the Poncitlan Police who were reportedly there within 5 minutes.
Report to Ministerio: Yes Report being filed today in Poncitlan
